Focus areas

What I'm working on right now. Experience is where I've been; this is where the pressure is today.

  1. Claude Design

Using Claude to design, not just to build: design systems, prompts that hold a visual style, and getting from a brief to something that looks deliberate.

  2. Claude Science

Anthropic’s AI workbench for scientists. One place for the literature, notebooks, databases and compute a lab already uses, with an agent that turns it into reproducible analyses, figures and papers, and a reviewer that checks the working.

  3. Multi-modal routing

Sending each job to the model that’s best at it. Text, code, images and voice don’t all belong in the same place, and the routing is where the value is.

  4. Advisor escalation

Letting a fast model do the work and escalate the hard calls to a stronger one. When to ask for a second opinion, who to ask, and how to weigh the answer.

  5. Value and work definition

Work Packs: defining the outcome, the context and what done looks like before any agent starts. If you can’t say what the work is worth and how you’ll know it’s finished, more agents won’t help.

  6. Security and compliance

Governance and audit for AI at work. What agents can reach, what leaves the building, and being able to show an auditor what happened and why, without slowing the teams down.

This list moves

Focus changes as the tools do. If you're working on any of these too, send a signal. I'd rather compare notes than guess.
